Ali's painting style is not locked into one particular look; it's influenced by a combination of abstract, contemporary and traditional painting styles. Although she starts with a plan and a vision; the finished piece can be completely different.

Her painting mantra is 'expect the unexpected!' 

Inspiration comes from her favourite places and things such as the coast, flowers and animals. Ideas find her in the strangest of places; random things catch her eye and capture her heart. Her studio is like a bowerbird's nest of collected treasures. 

Ali likes to use bold, vibrant colours and her work incorporates a mixture of texture, acrylics, oil pastels, chalk pastels, papers, fabrics, gold leaf and inks.
