ARTIST NOTES: My first time in 20 years of holding a brush and I had to pick a black and white photo from the newspaper as my first subject. The challenge was to trim down the picture to emphasize the eyes and capture the joy of the lion cub. My kitchen table was taken over for some weeks as I let the tiny image come to life...I do love it...

ARTIST BIO

Back in 1992 Michelle Walker, a Primary Teacher with a passion for children\'s book illustration, found a further outlet for her creativity with a range of individually painted Toy Boxes.  This quickly began a business that she ran for the next 25 years.

\"When I sold my business last year I was finally able to return to my first love...painting and creating artworks.  I plan to continue to learn and hone my skills as I am finally free to dedicate my time to being the best artist I can be.  I can\'t tell you how much joy this brings me, and hopefully others as they follow my journey...\"
