Noni Fitzmaurice
After studying craft and art at school Noni's passion for painting has returned over the last ten years or so.
Noni's Balwyn garden filled with roses, gardenias and exotic flowers and her visits to the Mornington peninsula provide inspiration for her art. A keen crafts person all her life Noni has experience with mosaics, costume making for amateur theatre, crocheting and knitting as well as intricate flower making for cake decorating.
Her return to painting follows the death of her husband from Cancer in 2005 and her own life threatening operation in 2009. She takes hundreds of photographs of nature to direct her art and find new subjects to paint.
Noni continues to extend her experience and creativity by taking classes with artists whose work inspires her. After completing a recent intensive acrylics workshop with a renowned visiting South Australian artist, as well as landscape artists she seeks to bring the essence of nature to life again on canvas. The hardest thing for her is parting with a painting which she has lovingly created.
She hopes some of her work will bring others joy as well. |
