Rita lives in Melbourne, Australia, with her family, including two grown up daughters. \r\nIn the last few years Rita has completed a number of commissioned work as well as sold a few of her paintings. She runs a blog where she is regularly displays her new work. \r\nRita’s art work mostly represents topics, issues or memories that resonate with her, such as recollections from her childhood, being a cancer sign and feeling very connected to the water. She loves bright, powerful colour schemes. \r\nPortraiture, urban landscapes and water have always been her key interest. \r\nRita has attended an Odessa Art school for 5 of years as a teenager. This followed a spell of many years when a tertiary education in Bachelor of Science was achieved at RMIT, career in IT and growing family, left little time for practicing art. However, at this time, in all Rita’s travels, most time was spend visiting art galleries. In 2010 Rita came across and did a course in acrylics with Margarita Krivitsky. Rita’s defining moment came with her introduction to a wonderful art teacher and artist John Lawry with whom she has been studying with ever since. Rita participated in a number of life drawing art groups. \r\nIn time Rita hopes to switch her career to being a full time artist as well as a volunteer at NGV. \r\nhttp://ritasleep.blogspot.com.au/ |
