Western District Pastoral by Julie Williams

Features

ARTIST NOTES: The sun, low on the horizon, dazzles the eyes and blurs the distant trees, emphasising the limitless space. The eucalypts are silhouetted against the bleached sky and land. The simplicity of the scene and the serenity of the grazing cattle, evoke a romantic mysteriousness the pioneers found in the Australian landscape, that is still felt by the modern urban traveller today.
